==== The City Council ====
The City Grand Council elects from its members the city executive council, simply called the City Council
consisting of the following members:

  * The Captain Regent of the City
  * The Captain Regent of the Land
  * The Chief Judge
  * The Master of Trade
  * The Master Mason: by tradition this is usually a Red Beard living in the Red Beards' quarter
  * The Master of Public Works: usually this is a Free Folk living in the Free Folk' quarter
  * The First Speaker: somehow he is always elected into the City Council.
